Country Music Festival - October 11 & 12. This year the Chicago Country Music Festival has its own weekend and a new location at Soldier Field & celebrates its 18th year with concerts and a new festival area that promises to draw some of the biggest names in country music. Chicagoween - October 17-31. Chicagoween is a City-Wide Celebration of Halloween during the month of October, involving the Park District, Museums, Navy Pier, the Chicago Cultural Center, and other organizations. 312-744-3315. www.chicagoween.us

Haunted Village - October 17-31. Daley Plaza (Washington and Dearborn Streets), hosts the Haunted Village and is transformed into Pumpkin Plaza, with pumpkin decorating, spooky storytellers and more to thrill and chill. Halloween Happening Parade - October 25. The parade steps off at noon at the corner of State and Randolph streets. Following the parade, kids can enjoy trick-or-treating, a performance by Midnight Circus and a costume contest—all at Pumpkin (Daley) Plaza. 312-744-3315.
